Simple Definition Of Ethernet
Ethernet (Ethernet) refers to the baseband LAN specification that is created by Xerox company and jointly developed by Xerox, Intel, and Dec Corporation, and is the most common standard of communication protocol used by today's existing LANs. The Ethernet network uses CSMA (carrier-monitoring multiplexing and conflict detection) technology and runs at 10m rates on multiple types of cables. Ethernet is similar to the IEEE802.3 Series Standard.
Includes standard Ethernet ($number), Fast Ethernet ($number), and 10G (10 Bit S) Ethernet. They all fit IEEE802.3.
